Penny Roberts, owner of Penny Quilts, has been professionally trained at Statler Stitcher headquarters, as well as by many nationally recognized and award winning quilting professionals each year at the Machine Quilter's Showcase in Kansas City, KS.
She continually strives to find ways to improve her quilting talents and skills, by pushing her quilting ability to the creative edge.
She is a certified Creative Studio Trainer, which is the recently released computerized machine quilting program use by Gammill Statler Stitcher. She enjoys teaching others in a group or individually.
Penny has also been a Beta Tester for the Creative Studio program since November 2007, testing new features for the Gammill Statler Stitcher to help perfect it before the public gets the latest version.
Since 2007 Penny has been using the “S.S. Windy” (Which is the name of her latest quilting machine.) S. S. stands for Statler Stitcher and Windy because this machine has been the wind beneath Penny’s creative wings! The Gammill Statler Stitcher is, in Penny’s opinion, the best in computerized, accurate and creative quilting tool for today’s demanding market.
Penny's thoughts on quilting: Quilting is to enchance the beauty of the top by adding motion and causing the eye to travel over the whole quilt top. Whether you need an overall pattern, custom quilting or art quilting, a balance needs to be struck between the look of the finished product and the cost of the quilting. Having completed hundreds of quilts I have alot of experience matching the perfect quilting design to make the quilt sparkle!
Recently some quilter friends have dubbed me the quilt whisperer--a title I am truly honored to have!
